Deuce's Takes: From Ghetto Apartments to Fantasy Football
Deuce's Takes: From Ghetto Apartments to Fantasy Football
September 8th, 2024
Welcome to Deuce's Two Cents on this Football Sunday! Whether you're at a pub, bar, with friends, or home alone, enjoy the games! It wasn't always so easy to catch a game. I remember when I didn't even have a TV and had to listen games outside a neighbor's apartment, just to hear the action! Today, we're spoiled - you can watch anywhere - phone, computer... But if for some reason you can't see your game, don't let it ruin your day. There's always next week!
I'm all about the Raiders today! Let's talk about those first two games of the season, they were awesome! Fantasy points were through the roof. I gotta say, I think Andrews and Kelce, two of the greatest tight ends ever, are now decoys. They'll still have big games, but if you're playing fantasy, have backup tight ends!
Those first 2 games on my watchlist were super entertaining and everything I predicted they would be. Fantasy points galore. Mr. Love, get well soon, that was a tough break. I was really impressed with Baltimore's defense against the Chiefs!
A word to the wise for all you offensive linemen out there: watch out, or you'll get a flag! Just ask Baltimore.
Looking at Deuce’s watchlist, you will see I have added 2 games. I'm really excited about the Raiders vs Chargers game (for all known reasons - Raider Nation!!). Also, I am curious to see what happens with their “Harbaugh offense”. I think Brenden Rice is gonna be a star if given the opportunity. I even put my money where my mouth is and bet on him for Rookie of the Year, probably wrong though!
As for the Chargers, well, we're gonna take them down, and take over LA, it's what we do!
On a personal note, I'll be watching the Saints-Carolina game with my wife, who's a Saints fan. I'm also keeping an eye on Chuba Hubbard. I'm a big fan. I think he'll have a big game, even against that tough Saints defense. I picked the Saints to win, but I think Carolina will give them a run for their money, and Young will show everyone he's the real deal.
We're kinda proud of ourselves for getting those first two predictions right. We'll probably be wrong on the rest, but hey, you gotta start somewhere! I'm obviously rooting for the Raiders, but I'm also rooting for a safe and injury-free season for everyone. Good luck to everyone playing fantasy football! I'm in a new league this year, and it's pretty exciting!
That's all from me. I hope everyone has a safe, blessed day. Go Raiders, and deuces!
