Deuce’s Games of the Week
This week, I’m breaking down three NFL games that have caught my eye. Normally, I like to cover four, but I’m sticking to three because these matchups are full of intrigue, fantasy implications, and some serious playmaking potential. Let’s dive in!
1. Saints vs. Falcons
As a Raider fan, I know inconsistency when I see it. Derek Carr can be hit or miss, and I’m curious to see how he handles the Falcons defense this week. They’ve got solid safeties and corners, and they play with heart. The Saints, on the other hand, have their own strengths, but one big question looms: is Taysom Hill really that important?
Last week without him, they looked out of sync. They even ran the same play eight times in a row! So, is Taysom Hill the glue holding the Saints together? We will see, however, I still believe they’ll pull through and take the win. As for the Falcons, Bijan Robinson’s status is something to watch. Will he play the whole game, or will Tyler Allgeier take over? And what about the Saints' defense? They played well against Seattle, but that 65-yard run was a problem. I’m taking the Saints in this one.
2. Vikings vs. Packers
This game has the makings of a classic NFC North battle. Love is coming back, and Jacobs has been on fire. The Packers have been spreading the ball around with no clear number one receiver, but they’ve got talent across the board. For my cousin Cindy, a die-hard Packers fan, I’m picking Green Bay in this one.
Aaron Jones is looking to have a big game in his return to Green Bay, and I’m curious to see how Chandler steps in when they need extra yards. The Vikings have been solid, but I believe the Packers' defense will disrupt their offensive line enough to make Sam Darnold uncomfortable. Packers take this one at home.
3. Bills vs. Ravens
The Bills have been on fire. Josh Allen is having a great season, and they looked unstoppable in their last game. But I’ve got a gut feeling that the Ravens will step up. Lamar Jackson, John Harbaugh, and the Ravens’ defense are going to have something to say about the Bills' momentum.
I picked the Bills to go to the Super Bowl, and even if they lose this game, they’re still in a great spot. But I think the Ravens need this win more, and they’re going to get it. Buffalo will learn some lessons, but Baltimore takes this one.
Fantasy Insights and Betting Tips
For all you fantasy players out there, keep an eye on Bijan Robinson’s health status. If he’s not 100%, Tyler Allgeier could be a sneaky start. And don’t forget about Aaron Jones—he’s ready to make a statement. As for betting, I’d lean towards the Saints and Packers this week. And if you’re feeling lucky, take a shot on the Ravens pulling off the upset.
Special Guest: Blair’s 8-Ball Prediction
I couldn’t finish without a special appearance from my daughter, Blair. She’s my little Raider rep, and we asked her if the Raiders are going to win this week. The 8-ball says yes, so we’re hoping for a big game from the Silver and Black. And if you’re like my friend, a Browns fan, we’re both hoping our teams show up and put on a show.
